‘On The Road’ to Christmas fun

Staff from our ‘On The Road’ project have been out and about at Light Up and Christmas events across the District, chatting to residents and providing information and support on the issues such as energy, housing, benefits, work and money.

Over the coming weeks you can catch us at the following Christmas events:

• Saturday 1st December: 3.45-5.45pm at Wrenthorpe Village Hall
• Tuesday 5th December 9-11.30am at Community Morning, Normanton Junior School (parents/ carers only)
• Tuesday 5th December 5-7pm at Outwood Memorial Hall
• Wednesday 6th December 5-7pm at Stanley Community Centre
• Thursday 7th December 4-6pm at Hemsworth Together event, Outwood Academy, Hemsworth (parents/carers only)

As well as chatting about our services, we are making residents aware of the Your Money Matter advice events coming up in January and February in 9 different venues throughout the District.

These events will bring together a number of support agencies, including• Citizens Advice Wakefield District
• WDH
• DWP
• Step Up
• teams from Wakefield Council’s Money Smart, Communities and Energy and Children and Young People’s Services
to provide specialist help and support on the impact of the cost-of-living crisis including money worries, benefits, housing, work and employability, plus energy advice and access to local agencies such as food and clothing banks.
